We’ll be fire walking soon, but we’re not getting cold feet!
On November 1st, we will be walking over hot coals in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Bullies Out. As proud sponsors of the charity, we have been fundraising all year, with choir concerts, an auction and a walk up Pen y Fan Mountain already raising a massive £895.
The team members taking part are our Director Steve, Blogger and Social Media Assistant Mari, and Marketing and Administration Assistant Becky.
It’s safe to say they are all a little nervous, but the walk over 800 degree red hot wood embers will be well worth it if it helps us to support Bullies Out.
According to a survey we shared recently, nearly half of all children have experienced bullying. This is a shocking statistic and one we hope to play a part in changing.
We’re doing this because we are prepared to walk over hot coals if it will provide education/training to prevent bullying and reduce childhood/adult trauma!!! – Steve Farmer
Although she is nervous, Becky is also excited about the event.
I like that they address bullying in the workplace as well as bullying in school, as I think many people would dismiss bullying among adults as being less of an issue – Rebecca Lewis
