Angela Griffiths – Head of Learning & Development, Gwalia
Gwalia has worked in collaboration with Steps Training for over three years. We originally commissioned Steps Training to develop in partnership a programme for Personal Safety and De-escalation. Since then, Steps Training have worked with us to develop several other bespoke learning solutions to meet the specific needs of our organisation, staff and customers. The learning solutions are exceptional quality and promote high standards of practice within the sector.
Steve and his team provide a stellar service, both in terms of programme design, delivery and evaluation, as well as absolute professionalism, subject knowledge and expertise. Our staff say it is some of the best training that they have ever attended, and it is a pleasure to continue to collaborate with Steps Training to develop Gwalia’s service provision.
Ernie Johnson – Project Leader, Gwalia Care & Support
The training which was held at a local hotel was very well structured and met the needs of my staff. Everyone on the course felt that at the end of the first day they had taken part in a very well presented training experience, they felt that they were all involved and allowed to contribute at a level that they felt comfortable with, everyone left the first day looking forward to attending the second session.
Session two did not disappoint and followed on seamlessly from day one. I feel that my staff have benefited greatly from the training, they are more confident when dealing with clients as they feel that “grey areas” have been removed which is allowing them to work without fear of unwittingly crossing boundaries.
I found that the tutor was excellent; he assessed then worked to the individual needs of my staff while he delivered the training.
The comments from staff following the training were all very positive and most agreed that it was the best and most relevant training that they had attended since working with the company.

Steps Training has provided first class support to both myself and the team at St Isan. The positive and constructive guidance in both training and observations has been truly beneficial and I can see clear evidence where this is further improving the lives and well-being of staff and ultimately service users.

Cymorth Cymru is delighted to work in partnership with Steps Training to deliver part of our training framework. We are committed to ensuring our courses are cost-effective and delivered by specialists in the field which is why we work with Steps Training. The most important element of our training is what our delegates say about it and whether it has met their learning objectives and the response from Steps Training Course’s is excellent.
Phillipa Norman - YMCA
We booked Steps Training to come and do a bespoke training day for housing and support staff based around risk assessment. The course content was adapted to cover exactly what we were after and the training day was excellent, with everybody being in agreement that it was time well spent. Steve was friendly and made the training interactive and interesting for everyone involved. We have been able to use what we learned to impact on the way we work with vulnerable people to ensure we achieve the best possible outcomes for both the resident and the organisation. Thanks very much for providing us with exactly what was needed at a very competitive price!
