March has rolled around again and we know that several of you are anticipating the beginning of our annual search for a ‘Charity of the Year.’ We have decided to take a different approach with choosing a charity to support this year – rather than committing to one charity for a full twelve months, we’re going to support a brand new charity every other month!
We would like to invite you to register your interest in the usual way – by commenting on our Facebook page, Twitter feed or sending us an email directly. We don’t require lengthy submissions, just a brief introduction to your charity. We also ask that you ‘like’ our Facebook page, and follow us on Twitter, as well as share or retweet any one post relating to our search. All who do this will have the chance every other month to be selected randomly for our support throughout the following eight weeks.
The support will vary, from fundraising proceeds to places on our open courses and even to your very own bespoke training course. Every selected charity will be a focus for us throughout the two months – we will do our best to raise awareness through our social feeds. The type of support or fundraising event on offer will be announced on the last Friday of the month before the support is due to begin. The charity will then be randomly selected and informed on the first working day of the month.
We feel this method will allow more small charities to benefit financially from our fundraising and from all-important training, and give more of you a chance to be supported by us. We’re very excited to have the opportunity to connect with so many small charities across Wales and are looking forward to hearing from you.
As always, the ball will start rolling on March 1st! We’ll publish a list of all the charities entered into our hat on April 3rd – good luck.
